The website located at (“LOCOM website”), the LOCOM mobile application (“LOCOM APP”) and related services (collectively the “Services”) are made available to you (or the “user”) by SAMROCO (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in accordance with the laws of South Africa with its registered address at 106 Vukani Complex, 488 Boundary Road, North Riding AH, Roodepoort, Gauteng, 2162 and company registration number 2017/142437/07 (“Service Provider” or “we” or “us”).


This document provides details about our Privacy and Cookie Policy (“Privacy Policy”), which forms part of our Terms located here [insert link to Terms of Use]. We take your privacy seriously and we are committed to protecting your personal information. We, as the responsible party, use the personal information that we collect from you in accordance with this Policy. “Personal information” means any information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person, and where it is applicable an identifiable existing juristic person (i.e company) as defined under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPI”). Depending on who you are and how you interact with us (e.g., telephone, online or offline), we may collect, use, receive, store, analyze, combine, transfer or otherwise process different categories of personal information, including information relating to your identity (such as your name, surname and identity number), contact information (such as your telephone number, email address and location), payment information (such as bank details and credit card information), Service usage and technical information (such as when and how frequent you make us of and/or access the Services and the details of the device(s) you do so), marketing and communication information (such as communication with our customer service support and information about promotions, surveys and competitions). Please note that not all of the aforementioned information is mandatory however depending on what information is provided by you, the accessibility and functionality of the Services may be limited. In addition to the aforementioned, we may also collect, use and/or share non-personal information or anonymized data such as statistical or demographic data derived from the Services. Such information may be used and pooled with other information on an anonymised and generalised basis to track, for example, the total number of users of the Services, the number of visitors to the LOCOM website and/or the LOCOM APP and the domain names of our visitors' internet service providers.


If we receive or collect it from you directly

We may collect personal information from you when you voluntarily provide such information, such as when you:

  • register an Account or Business Account for access to the Services and make use thereof;
  • contact us with inquiries,
  • respond to one of our surveys; and
  • enter a competition, promotion or survey or you ask to have marketing materials sent to you.

Wherever LOCOM collects personal information we make an effort to provide a link to this Privacy Policy.

Collection of personal information from third parties or from publicly available sources

We may obtain personal information through referrals from other users, or if publicly available, where permitted by law, including:

  • from social platforms or networks when you give us permission to do so or such information is available publicly as permitted by applicable laws;
  • from publicly available sources, as permitted with applicable laws.


We process personal information only when we have a valid legal ground to do so. Most commonly, we use your personal information where:

  • it is necessary to process your personal information in connection with the performance of providing you with access and use of the Services;
  • to comply with any legal obligations.

We may seek your explicit consent where the applicable laws require us to do so.


The information collected by LOCOM is used in the following ways:

  1. For the successful operation of the Services, which includes:
    1. the verification, authentication and authorisation of yourself during your onboarding onto the LOCOM website and/or LOCOM APP.
    1. the sharing of the Businesses’ information with you, for example, we will include the Business name and photograph, and applicable reviews, in their profile on the LOCOM website and/or LOCOM APP, which will be available to and searchable by all users of Services.
  2. To manage and implement the Services, which includes:
    1. ensuring that content from our Services is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer or other device from which you access the Services;
    1. providing you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you;
    1. improving or modifying the Services, for example based on how you use the Services and what services you are requesting;
    1. improving your search based on your location;
    1. calculating conversion rates and other elements of the Service’s performance;
    1. researching and gaining insights into market trends and needs and to develop or innovate our technologies, products and services to meet such market trends and needs;
    1. analyzing your use of our Services and compiling internal statistical insights and reports based on data received; and
    1. improving and personalizing our relationship with you.
  3. To manage our relationship with you, which includes:
    1. carrying out our obligations to you;
    1. allowing you to participate in interactive features of our Services, when you choose to do so;
    1. notifying you about changes to our Services offered;
    1. notifying you if there is any interruption of the Services;
    1. receiving your feedback on the improving or developing of our Services;
    1. providing you with service assistance and problem solutions or to contact or send you notifications related specifically to the Services.
  4. For marketing purposes (discussed further below).


You may choose to make your personal information available to other users of the LOCOM APP through its functionalities. This will be initiated by you and not by us. We will not sell your personal information to others, or share your personal information with others for their commercial or marketing use without your consent. We may provide aggregate statistics about our sales, users, traffic patterns and other website information to third parties, but these statistics will not include any information that could identify you.


We take reasonable precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the Services, your information is protected both online and offline. Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the Web page. While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only our employees and/or agents and/or service providers who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Where any of these employees and/or agents and/or service providers are cross border, we only share your personal information with them if they are based in countries who have privacy protection laws similar to POPI or if they are otherwise legally bound to similar laws, such as for example through an agreement with us. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment. If you feel that we are not abiding by this privacy policy, you should contact us immediately via the details provided in clause 18 of the Terms.


LOCOM may use personal information to contact you in the future to tell you about services we believe will be of interest to you, provided you have consented to such marketing. Such marketing will occur if you have:

  • requested more information from us;
  • registered an Account or created a Business Account to make use of and/or access to the Services;
  • entered into a promotion campaign, offer or survey or loyalty programme, offered by LOCOM

If we do send marketing, each communication we send you will contain instructions permitting you to "opt-out" of receiving future communications, which you may do so at any time. In addition, if at any time you wish not to receive any future communications or you wish to have your name deleted from our mailing lists, please contact us as indicated.


We may use “cookies” when you make use of and/or access our Services. A “cookie” is a piece of information stored on a user’s hard drive to help us improve your access to the Services and to identify repeat users.  For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while using and/or accessing our services. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on the LOCOM website. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.


Most browsers are set by default to accept cookies automatically, but usually you can alter the settings of your browser to prevent automatic acceptance and to prompt you every time a cookie is sent to you or to allow you to choose not to receive cookies at all.


You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the details provided on our website and/or clause 18 of the Terms:

  • request access to your personal information;
  • correct or rectify your personal information;
  • delete your personal information;
  • withdraw your consent to LOCOM to process your personal information;
  • restrict the processing of your personal information; and
  • raise a complaint about how your personal information is being processed.

We will endeavour to process your request as soon as practically possible and within a reasonable time from when it is received. Should you have any complaints about how LOCOM uses your personal information you are entitled to contact the Information Regulator to lodge a complaint, which complaint can be directed to  or   


LOCOM does not knowingly collect personal information from children (individuals under the age of 18). If you are under the age of 18, please do not submit any personal information through the Services and you may not use the Services. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children's internet usage and to help enforce our Privacy Policy by instructing their children never to provide personal information without their permission. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 18 has provided personal information to LOCOM please contact us, and we will endeavour to delete that information from our databases.


The Services and our business may change from time to time. As a result, at times it may be necessary for LOCOM to make changes to this Privacy Policy. Therefore, we may update this Privacy Policy from time to time (for example, to reflect changes in our business or the law). Any changes we may make will be posted on this page and we will highlight to you any material changes which we make. This Privacy Policy was last updated on the date indicated above. Your continued use of the Services after any changes or revisions to this Privacy Policy shall indicate your agreement with the revised terms.
